We are seeking Ride & Water Park Mechanics to join our operations team.  Position includes performing general and preventative maintenance and inspections on various amusement and water park attractions.  Applicants must be skilled in the use of hand and power tools.  Must possess practical skill and proficient knowledge in two or more trades, such as :  mechanical, electrical, hydraulics, pneumatics, welding and small combustion engine repair.  PLC and/or VFD experience a plus.  Must be able to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and summer holidays.  Beech Bend Park offers a competitive salary commensurate with experience, education and training and a comprehensive benefits package. Duties and Responsibilities: Greeting visitors, answer phones and email, receiving and sorting mail, drafting correspondence and other formal documents, scheduling appointments and interviews, organizing and processing tickets and catered meals for groups and company picnics, checking in campers, working with sales rep on picnic contracts and agreements, working with HR to maintain employee files, and assisting with other clerical duties.

Qualifications: Proficiency in MS Word, Outlook and Excel required. Knowledge of or ability to learn Quick Books mandatory. Strong verbal and written communication skills are needed. Position includes working on Saturday and Sunday and three days per week.

Duties and Responsibilities: EMT’s are responsible for providing rapid First Aid and EMS care needs that occur at the park. They must maintain the highest level of customer service to guests, by obtaining knowledge of the facility in order to assist customers. EMT’s must maintain a safe and clean work environment while completing daily supply and equipment inspections and reporting missing, expired, or broken equipment to management. One is required to document all services rendered while following park and legal policies and procedures, as well as preforming other duties.

Qualifications: Valid EMT license is a must. Recommended to have at least three years practical EMT experience. EMT’s must be aware, attentive, and work well with others.

Physical Demands: It is important that a candidate is able to stand or walk for an extended period of time, as well as being able to endure work environments of excessive heat. It gets HOT in the summer, and we are an outside facility so we do expect the candidates to follow proper guidelines to ensure the health and safety of our EMT. One must also be able to lift, carry, move items that could weigh up to 50 lbs.

Duties and Responsibilities: Cashiers are responsible for placing orders, taking payments, and preparing orders to serve to customers quickly and professionally. Line Cooks must operate and properly maintain all cooking equipment and its corresponding prep station in order to keep a clean and safe work environment. All employees must maintain the highest level of customer service standards, while escalating all customer concerns and complaints to higher management. It is important that one obtains knowledge of the park facilities and amenities in order to assist customers. Cashiers must be able to count money and make change, as well as receiving cash, credit cards, vouchers or debit cards as payments. Various other duties and responsibilities are assigned.

Qualifications: Must be at least 14 years old; 16 years old to be a cook. Excellent verbal communication and basic math skills a must. Needs to be aware, attentive, work well with others, and willing to accept guidance and supervision. Will need to complete a food handling course, which will be provided. Must be available to work on operating holidays.

Duties and Responsibilities: Establish protection standards by supervising and surveying swimmers. Performing water rescues when needed. Providing basic first aid and emergency care. Be knowledgeable and enforce the rules and regulations of the waterpark (such as height/weight restrictions, proper riding equipment, etc.) Attend in-service on a weekly basis to maintain skills and certifications. Communicate with management, employees, and guests via whistles, hand signals, and radios. Remain attentive at all times and maintaining a professional image. Be able to provide superior guest services by composing yourself in a polite, professional manner. Be knowledgeable of park policies and procedures in order to assist customers with all questions about the facilities layout and amenities. Maintaining a neat and clean environment by assisting in waterpark beautification at the end of each day.

Qualifications: Must be at least 15 years of age. No prior Lifeguard certification required. Training course offered through Beech Bend Park. Ability to communicate effectively to guests and staff members and accept guidance and supervision. Ability to work in extreme weather conditions is a must, as well as being responsible enough to take the appropriate health precautions such as staying hydrated and applying sun-protection. It is extremely important that the Lifeguard be aware and attentive to guests to ensure their safety.

Duties and Responsibilities: Ride operators are responsible for operating controls in all weather conditions. They must verbally communicate and enforce safety rules. Assist guests in entering/existing ride vehicles. Will inspect safety equipment and harnesses prior to ride operations. Maintain a calm demeanor and act quickly in stressful/ emergency situations. Visually observes guests and ride in order to prevent safety hazards and ensure safety equipment is intact. Ensure friendly interactions with guests. Maintain a clean ride/environment. Complete a “safety scan” when required to ensure operational safety. Follow safety standards at all times.

Qualifications: Must be at least 16 years old. Must be willing to work in a team environment and be willing to accept guidance and supervision. Needs to adapt to change easily, as well as be able to tolerate a fast paced environment. Remains attentive and alert at all times. Ability to work in all weather conditions and take the proper health precautions to ensure personal health safety. Ability to comprehend instructions and retain information. Must enforce park regulations and policies (height restrictions, weight restrictions, riding positions, etc.) Willingness to work in any assigned attractions area and perform other functions as assigned. Must maintain a friendly composure with guests and willingness to help answer any questions they may have. Ability to sit/ stand for extended periods of time.

Job Responsibilities for Aquatics Management Internship

  • Front line supervision of nearly 100 lifeguards in Splash Lagoon
  • Assistance in primary training and weekly lifeguard in-service training
  • Manage rotation assignments and break schedules for all guards
  • Alter staffing based on predicted park attendance
  • Document lifeguard attendance and counsel lifeguards when needed
  • Direct and coordinate physical and visual audits of lifeguards
  • Assist water park manager in VAT drills (Vigilance Awareness Training)
  • Be a motivator and leader of all lifeguards

Required Qualifications

  • Applicant must currently hold an Ellis & Associates lifeguard license, or be willing to obtain one (Beech Bend certifies all lifeguards – classes are held at the park)
  • Background in lifeguarding, CPR/first aid/AED use, or other significant recreational or medical experience
  • Experience in a leadership role at a previous job or in a class
  • Must be willing to work with up to 3 other managers in same role
  • Functioning knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel

Additional Information: Those that apply for the aquatics internship will only be granted the intern/manager role after successful completion of the class and a manager interview.  Proficiency in all topics related to lifeguarding is required; it is expected that the manager will be more knowledgeable than all of the lifeguards underneath of them.  All applicants that do not currently hold an Ellis & Associates license will be required to attend a certification classes to be instructed by a Beech Bend manager/instructor.  Class dates to be determined. There is a $100 fee required by Ellis and Associates that must be paid to Beech Bend prior to taking any certification class.

As well as selling merchandise and/or renting out products/facilities to guests. They will also be responsible for merchandising and maintaining sale displays/ sales floor in order to promote the best experience possible for guests. They will receive payment via cash, credit, debit, and/or vouchers. One must remain knowledgeable of current promotional offers as well as knowledge of the facility in order to assist guests. It is important that the team member enforces all park policies and procedures while maintaining the highest level of customer service to our guests.

Qualifications: Must have basic computer and math skills in order to balance register and give out correct change. Have a friendly and outgoing personality in order to promote the best guest experience possible. Needs to be able to work well with others and willing to accept guidance and supervision.

  • Develop, implement, and monitor programming and schedules for waterpark operation.

They must be able to enforce facility and water slide rules in order to ensure the safety of guests. They will work closely with co-workers in order to signal and communicate when riders may safely enter/exit their slide/tube. Must be able to respond quickly and accurately. Be able to provide superior guest services by composing yourself in a polite, professional manner. Be knowledgeable of park policies and procedures in order to assist customers with all questions about the facilities layout and amenities. Maintaining a neat and clean environment by assisting in waterpark beautification at the end of each day.

Duties and Responsibilities: Supervisors should operate their location efficiently using labor and resources and are responsible for maintaining adequate staffing levels. Keeps location clean in order to excel health inspection standards. Follow and enforce safe food handling protocols. Manage break schedules for staff. Ensure team completes tasks such as facility and equipment cleaning in a timely manner and satisfactory. Ensure food prep, production, and output of products are performed in a timely manner.

Qualifications: Must maintain a professional and mature composure with both guests and employees at all time. Needs to be able to function in a fast paced environment and handle stress with a calm composure. Must enjoy working with people. 1-3 years’ experience in food service with supervisory experience preferred.

Duties and Responsibilities: Food Service Managers are responsible for supervising a number of food and beverage locations throughout the park. They will instruct, assign, review and plan the work of others, maintain standards, train employees, award and discipline, and maintain effective communication with all associates and staff members. Manager must also motivate management and supervisors to achieve excellent individual performance. Monitors cash control to include over/shorts, loss prevention, and daily sales reconciliation. Monitors food safety to ensure compliance with local health and safety standards, laws and regulations, and facility standards. Coordinates training of all seasonal associates in safe food practices. Takes corrective action as necessary in order to maintain park efficiency. Other various duties assigned.

Qualifications: Must be 18 years or older. Experience in Food Service Management required. Food Safety Manager/ServSafe Certification preferred. Has some knowledge or willingness to learn POS systems.
