The 30th NHRA SportsNATIONAL OPEN is in the books a day later than planned! Mother nature moved in just before 5pm Sunday afternoon and forced us into finishing the event on Monday. The 30th SportsNATIONAL OPEN did not disappoint as over 400 racers from all over the country made the trek to Beech Bend Raceway for an awesome event!
Saturday kicked things off with qualifying and time trails for all categories. Competition began Saturday afternoon with the JEGS Super Quick Series, The Clay Jones Memorial $5k SS/S Combo, and the JEGs.com Junior Dragster Race.
Saturday Results: Dylan Winters def. Greg Coffman in the JEGS Super Quick Series Race. Defending series Champion Jeremiah Hall grabbed the #1 Qualifier award with a 4.504 ET. Ricky Decker picks up the Big Check in the Clay Jones Memorial $5k SS/S Combo race defeating Jason Clark in the final round. The Jegs.com Junior Dragster 13&older category was won by Logan Belanger. Belanger defeated Max Barthel in the final round. The 12&under category went to Shelby Hall defeating Negarren Bush in the final round.
